Don't complain to others about your woes. Sometimes as people we try to avoid discussing past suffering and hardship, but those experiences are what brought us here thus far. If you want to keep your friends around, vent when it is appropriate, but other than that, keep your mouth shut.
Just learn to be strong and confident in your abilities. Your friends may criticize and try to help fix your relationship when you are around them. Be strong and sure of yourself when someone criticizes you. Use this as a learning experience and be grateful for the learning experience.
Turn your mind toward nature; toward singing birds and sunrises. Every 20 minutes stop what you're doing and meditate, focus on happiness. Relax, it will give your mind peace which help to reduce your stress. Most importantly, hold true to your faith and your ideals, and with that strength and confidence you can and will become the best person you can be, better than the one who ruined the relationship to begin with.
